October Road latest pilot to be picked up by ABC

October Road, a family drama starring Bryan Greenberg, has been picked up for six episodes by ABC.

The project centers on a young, acclaimed novelist (Bryan Greenberg) at a crossroads in life when he returns to his hometown to teach at the local university and faces the family and friends he left behind.

The drama pilot, which co-stars Tom Berenger and Geoff Stults, didn’t make the cut in May, but ABC kept the pilot in play by extending the options of the actors in July.

There is no word on if this series will run in the spring, or if it is planned for a summer release yet.

October Road should grab a lot of the audience left behind by the OC. It seems like a good show concept and it got a great timeslot. October Road Online appears to be the first fan forum for the show.
